Korea 

 

The Anabaptist witness in South Korea has taken a variety of forms, from post-war Mennonite Central Committee work in education and relief, to Abba Shalom Koinonia community, to the Jesus Village Church in Chun Chon, to the opening of the Korea Anabaptist Center in Seoul.

Beginning in 2002, that witness came full circle to education with the start of the V-School, a Christian middle and high school that is the vision of Jesus Village Church. In 2007, a Mennonite Church was planted in Seoul.

Providing Anabaptist faith resources through teaching and literature for Mennonites and for people from other denominations, as well as for those exploring a new relationship with Christ.

Assignments focus on children, in either full-time or part-time roles. Assignments might include teaching or health and community development.
Church planting and evangelism
Church planting and evangelism
Workers engage in evangelism and church planting, some in pioneer situations where no church exists. Others assist international partner churches in their existing evangelism and church-planting efforts.
Education
English and formal education
Mission Network personnel are involved in teaching ministries in a wide variety of school settings and at different levels. Workers teach English, literature and theology courses at both Christian and state universities.
Leadership training
Leadership training
Leadership training can take place formally or informally and develops church leadership, builds the capacity of servant leaders, and prepares them to train others for ministry.
Peace and justice
Peace and justice advocacy
Justice and peace ministries have developed in response to both immediate crises and long-term needs either in cooperation with other Christian groups, or initiated by international Mennonite churches.
Youth ministries
Youth outreach
Youth outreach workers walk with adolescents who have already chosen to follow Christ, and invite new believers to join the community of faith. Mission workers often join local initiatives to help young people develop their faith.
