Led by Mauricio Chenlo, beginning after Mennonite World Conference Assembly.
This tour will connect southern Argentine Mennonites involved in leadership development and church planting with leaders from United States interested in the church-planting movement.
Brazil, July 6-14, 2009
Led by Betty and Otis Hochstetler, with arrival at Mennonite World Conference Assembly.
This tour will provide opportunities to learn experientially about the mission involvements of Mission Network and its predecessor agencies in Brazil, and to be inspired by the witness of the Brazilian Mennonite churches today, plus sight-seeing in Rio and Iguazu.

Includes overseeing the appointment of a new Director (or equivalent) for a 3-year term (renewable), to implement the new 5-year Strategic Plan. London Mennonite Centre Host The hosts provide a logistical backbone for all the activities that go on at the LMC. By handling the community calendars and keeping the building repaired and maintained, the different facets of the LMC ministry can carry out their missions. Since hospitality is a core aspect of the LMC mission, the hosts are the front line and set the tone for the entire house. The primary function of the hosts are to facilitate the work of the ongoing programs of LMC including: some financial supervision and financial management; hosting and hospitality of guests and visitors; general maintenance of the physical facilities; office support; and coordinating work of volunteers.

Specific roles are negotiated based on the gifts and experiences the person would bring. Possibilities may include discipleship work with new believers, activities with children, teaching Sunday School, English, music or literacy. Skills in mechanics, carpentry and repair could be helpful to the local church in work towards financial self-sufficiency. Interns can also participate in mission trips to other ministry locations. English Teacher Teach English to children, youth and adults in Patagonia as a part of the Choele Choel Mennonite Church ministries. Pastoral Accompaniment Facilitators The Mennonite Team in the Chaco working with indigenous churches would like to place workers who have a strong personal commitment to sharing Christ and who are looking for a career in intercultural missionary presence. In-service training will be essential throughout long-term ministry, so this assignment may be seen as a "tenure track" internship. A sense of "call" is important, but the specific content may be defined along the way, and largely by the "host" partner. Regional Mission Intern VEMZO (Visión Evangelistica y Misionera de la Zona Oeste) was affirmed as a regional mission program by the Argentina Mennonite Church in 2002. A formal partnership now includes four Atlantic Coast Conference churches. Groups from ACC and Argentina visit each other in alternationg years to deepen relationships between partners through firsthand experiences of one another's contexts, review and learn from one another's practices and stimulate deeper spiritual bonds and prayer for one another. A Mission Network couple from Penn. has served in the region and the Argentine churches would like have an ongoing personnel presence to strengthen relatioships and participate in their holistic ministries. Regional Mission Intern PROMINOA (Programa Misionero al Norte Argentino), based in Buenos Aires, seeks interns to be a part of their Buenos Aires churches and participate in their youth ministries. Teachers of Bible, Theology, and Leadership Development The Latin American conferences which relate to Mission Network are working hard on leadership development and in general have ongoing interest in the participation of Anabaptist professors from other countries. Professors teach courses that help students study/read the Bible with Anabaptist understandings and prepare them for teaching and leadership responsibilities. Short courses may fill a specific need or a longer-term position may develop in conjunction with partner churches and institutions. Ministry Intern The Iglesia Evangélical Menonita Boliviana includes eight congregtions, three in Santa Cruz and five in rural areas. In 1989, IEMB together with Mennonite Central Committee formed Promoción Juvenil al Servicio (PROJUSE), a one-year voluntary service program for young adults 18-28. Ministry may include discipleship, evangelism, planning camps for children and youth, social work, handicrafts, teaching and writing. The IEMB is also interested in interns to work within their congregations. Possibilities are explored through PROJUSE and/or directly with a congregation. Most recently the rurall church in Don Lorenzo has expressed interest in someone to work with adolescents and youth and help in leading services. School and church outreach accompaniment workers The Mennonite church and school in La Mesa coordinate multiple ministries including a K-12 school, a youth group and local service ministries. Both the school and the church appreciate support in teaching English. There are also opportunities to support church-planting efforts in nearby communities, including work with displaced people in responding to physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Especially with a longer-term presence, this role could have a connecting component with sister churches and sister schools in the U.S., and opportunities for mentoring young adults.
