Long-term international assignments

Interested in an international assignment?

Mennonite Mission Network is committed to ministry with and alongside local partners as together we share the good news of the gospel of Jesus. Assignments may be as brief as two weeks, or they can last many years. Interaction with a personnel counselor or a careful review of opportunities may help you to discern where God may be calling you to serve.

Mission Network international workers must be:

  • 21 years or older.
  • A committed Christian and an active church member.
  • Able to articulate a clear sense of call.
  • Affirmed for service by a local church community.
  • Able to learn and appreciate cultural norms different from their own.
  • Able to relate well with local people, co-workers, sister agencies and ecumenical partners.
  • Adaptable and resilient.

If considering an international assignment, prayerfully review the list of ministry opportunities below. This list is, however, only a starting point. There may be additional opportunities available at the time you are considering service.  We encourage you to review our entire website to see whether the types of ministries in which we are involved is something to which God may be calling you.

 Mission fellowship visits

Mission fellowship visits take interested supporters to ministry locations for a defined period of time to encourage workers, learn about Mennonite Mission Network ministries firsthand, experience expanded cross-cultural awareness, and broaden interest in mission.

 Work teams

Work teams support the vision of international church partners by providing physical and financial resources to help construct needed facilities. More importantly, work team participants walk alongside international partners, building relationships that can serve as the beginning of future mission partnerships.
