Description:
- Assist the executive director and development director in grant writing, correspondence, fundraising and public relations.
- Assist the executive director with the clerical aspects of administering the organization.
- Assist in maintaining donor records on appropriate data base program.
- Assist development director in organization of fund raising events.
- Assist in editing and producing the agency newsletter and annual report.
- Organize and participate in presentations, tours and agency fairs.
- Create informational materials.
- Assemble educational materials for parent training and seminars.
- Assist the librarian in all aspects of library organization and operation.
- Coordinate bulk mailings in conjunction with appropriate staff.
- Write thank-you letters to donors in cooperation with the executive director and development director.
- Be familiar with the agency's policies and procedures and maintain proper confidentiality.
- Assist in all other functions as requested by the executive director.
- Provide assistance to the rest of the administrative staff as well as staff in the Family Resource Center.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and at least two years of college, preferably with a public relations major. If no college, other levels of experience my be considered.
- Proficiency in word processing, desk top publishing and data management.
- Two years' experience as an administrative assistant or executive secretary preferred.
- Warmth and sensitivity to the issues facing families with a child with a disability.
- Personable and able to work well with many people.
- Creative and able to express self well in writing and speaking.
