Unit
As Alaska's largest city with 260,000 people, Anchorage's location along the Cook Inlet gives it a natural harbor alongside beautiful mountains. The Service Adventure unit house is located on a residential street toward the center of the city. With science and history museums, numerous parks and recreation areas, and access to a variety of cultural attractions, Anchorage offers unique opportunities for Service Adventure participants.

Church
Prince of Peace Mennonite Church has been a presence in Anchorage since 1989. Its more than 20 members sponsor the Anchorage Service Adventure unit, which began in February 1997. As a sponsor for both the Service Adventure unit and SOOP, Prince of Peace Mennonite Church places a high priority on service in the surrounding community.

Service
Service placements in Anchorage are varied and unique. Many participants have placements working with the homeless population in Anchorage, as the challenges faced by the homeless in Anchorage are substantial. Other participants work with children and youth, low-income families, abused women, the elderly, and the Bureau of Land Management.
