Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp

Divide  Colorado

Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp is a ministry of the Mountain States and South Central Mennonite conferences. The mission of RMMC is to provide a place of retreat that encourages holistic Christian growth by fostering the spiritual, social, physical and intellectual growth of each guest. Various programs are offered throughout the year for everyone.

Volunteer opportunities include maintenance, food services, and housekeeping from September to May. During June, July and August, volunteers are needed in the office and with other tasks. All volunteers will have a chance to interact with campers, guests, and other weekend volunteers.

Folks with respiratory issues should be mindful that RMMC is located in the mountains at 9,620 feet of elevation. Adjustment to the altitude is a necessary reality taking one or two days. Staying overnight at a middle altitude (Colorado Springs or Denver) greatly helps, as does proper hydration. The mountains provide a beautiful landscape, but not many flat surfaces. In the winter and even in the spring, snow is always a possibility. The summer months offer temperatures in the range of 70-80 degrees in the afternoons with many cool mornings.

LodgingVolunteers are provided with available facilities that might range from a bedroom with beds only to a small apartment-style accommodation with a private kitchen, bathroom, living room, and bedroom. Accommodations are based on the time of year and the number of guests at the camp. RV hookups with water, sewer and electric are available from June through September.

Camp food service prepares meals when guest groups are being served, and SOOP volunteers are welcome to join in. At other times, food is provided from the camp kitchen.
