Team Size: The Los Angeles Youth Venture team is limited to 10 participants.

Service/Learning Component     You will arrive in Los Angeles on Saturday and will have some time to get to know your environment, to settle in, and meet your team. Sunday, you will worship with the Maranatha Christian Fellowship, a multicultural Indonesian Mennonite congregation. The next two days you will plan a three-day vacation Bible school for children at the church that will be held Wednesday through Friday. The following Sunday, you will share with the congregation about the week.

The next week, you will have opportunities to get to know other Mennonite congregations throughout the L.A. area. You will have chances to worship and learn alongside these congregations, and to help them with service projects that can range from painting a kitchen to leading a Bible study.

Throughout the two weeks, you will also have time to explore L.A. … hitting the beach, trying different types of food, visiting museums, and experiencing southern California culture!  If you want to learn about urban ministry, and experience different cultures while spending time with kids, serving and sharing about Christ, this is your place!

Housing Facilities    Your group will live together in a shared community space that will include a kitchen and bathrooms. Be prepared to learn about community life and sharing space!

Travel directions to location:   You are responsible for making your own travel arrangements to Los Angeles. Plan to arrive no later than mid-afternoon July 7, and leave in the evening of July 22, or on Monday morning, July 23. If you are driving, the Youth Venture office or your team leaders can provide you with directions. If you are flying, your team leaders will make arrangements to meet you at the airport.

Costs   Trip cost is $700 and includes meals, lodging, travel, and recreational activities from the time of your arrival in Los Angeles to your departure. Trip cost does not include travel to Los Angeles, or personal spending money.
