Ministry in Thailand
Pat and Rad Houmphan are involved in evangelism and church planting among the Isaan
people in northeastern Thailand with Living Water Church. The majority of Isaan or Lao-Thai practice
Buddhism mixed with ancient animism. In the last few years a number of Isaans have
become Christians. Living Water Church meets in two villages with
believers coming from 14 surrounding villages. It uses the regional Isaan language in worship and worshippers sing praises with Isaan tunes on local instruments. By presenting a Savior who feels at home in Thailand, Living Water eliminates contextual barriers involved with a supposedly Western religion.
