Yesterday, today and tomorow
Mennonite Voluntary Service (MVS) has touched the lives of each generation since its inception more than 60 years ago. Thousands who want to follow the call of Jesus Christ have served in communities all across the nation. At the same time, volunteers grow in their faith, and many have even found direction for their life work in the process.
A gift of $75 provides one week of the total support necessary for a young adult to serve in MVS. Consider the impact your support of a single week might have and make a donation.
MVS helps people discover their God-given calling
Krista Winter never expected she’d end up working with people who have cognitive disabilities. But through her role as a recreational therapy instructor at Imagine! in Boulder, Colo., she’s found her niche. The music lessons she plans help clients relax and express themselves. For Krista, music is the best way to express her faith.
MVSers impact communities long after their service term ends
Rich Howard-Willms always had a passion for justice and peace. It was why he signed up for MVS more than 20 years ago. And it’s why he stayed in St. Louis. Rich now manages a fair-trade store and serves on the board of the St. Louis Mennonite Peace Center. Seven other St. Louis MVSers have also made the city their home. Most have continued the work they began as MVSers, and all are active participants in St. Louis Mennonite Fellowship.
With your participation the legacy of MVS can be passed down to another generation
