Overview
The Peace & Justice Support Network strengthens
Mennonite Church USA's commitment to peace and justice
by equipping the church to embody and communicate
Christ's reconciling way of peace. The Peace &
Justice Support Network combines the work of the former
Mennonite Church's Peace & Justice Committee and the
former General Conference Mennonite Church's Peace
and Justice Resources program of the Commission on
Home Ministries. The new single voice, sponsored by
Mennonite Church USA Executive Board and Mennonite
Mission Network, speaks words of healing and hope,
and calls for organized response to the violence and
brokenness in our world through:
- Creating and keeping clear the vision of peace
and justice in the Mennonite Church USA.
- Promoting the expansion of peace and justice through
gatherings for inspiration.
- Providing counsel to Mennonite Church USA agencies
and Executive Board.
- Sharing and publicizing resources for congregations
(including Second Mile: A peace journey for congregations)
- Communicating peace and justice work to the wider
constituency.
Mennonite Mission Network serves as the Peace &
Justice Support Network's financial agent for soliciting
and receipting funds. Its work is guided by a reference
committee, which includes staff as well.
Peace & Justice Support Network offers a variety
of posters, t-shirts, booklets, bookmarks, flags,
