Growing out of conversations in the late 1990s, this partnership involves a leadership and people exchange focused on church planting in South Africa and in Virginia Mennonite Conference. In 2001, Pastor Flinn Ranchod and his family came from South Africa to plant a new congregation in Chesapeake, Va. The vision grew out of Calvary Community Church's Tidewater ministry plan. The partnership's plans also include planting a church in South Africa with leadership from Calvary church and joint mission-training efforts in South Africa with youth from each congregational movement.
