Radical Journey Stats
Radical Journey is an experience for young adults who are willing to be transparent, who are willing to learn and grow, and who are flexible and open for God to transform their lives. Young adults 18-30 are invited to apply.
Length of term: One year
Summary: Radical Journey provides experiences for cross-cultural learning, service and intentional faith formation in community. Participants are expected to see anew what God is doing in the world and imagine ways they can join and influence others to join in God’s mission of love and reconciliation.

Radical Journey
This year-long experience is designed to create space for young adults to enter into an intentional process of formation from an Anabaptist perspective of faith and life integrated. The year is divided into three phases.

Radical SnapshotsRadical Snapshots
Radical Journey participants deepen their relationships with God and each other while serving in Colombia and Northern Ireland.
  • Orientation: Orientation: The first month is spent in a North American urban context and is designed to set the background and expectations for living, learning and serving in the cross-cultural community. It is a time to explore and introduce topics of formation for further reflection and conversation throughout the year.
  • Immersion: The next 10 months are spent in an international service location, joining with local missional Christian faith communities in building and creating mutually beneficial relationships. In some locations teams of participants will live with host families. Participants will be given opportunities to be involved in a variety of service opportunities connected to the local faith community. In conversation with staff, mentors and fellow team members, participants are encouraged to continue the journey of faith around topics of formation and practice as followers of Jesus Christ.
  • Re-Orientation: Beginning with a few days of retreat back in the orientation location, participants are encouraged to integrate what they have learned back in their home congregations or community. We desire to see young adults continue looking for where God is at work and imagining ways to engage, influencing others to also imagine ways we all can join in being living examples of God’s love.

It is our prayer that participants will continue to influence and form communities of faith and service, calling us all to a lifestyle of following Jesus Christ.
