The
Central Plains Mennonite Conference and the Colombian Mennonite Church
are in partnership with Mennonite Mission Network to work with indigenous
churches in Ecuador in providing theological and biblical education, and
supporting an alternative school for children. In January 2000, the Colombian
church sent its first missionary couple to Ecuador: César Moya
and Patricia Urueña with their three children. Through their work,
a Mennonite Church has been started in Quito. More recently, Liliana Ocampo
from Colombia, and Laura and Steve Nafziger of Ohio, have joined the partnership.
