MVS retreat

The 2017 MVS national retreat will be held at Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp in Divide, Colorado, Oct. 22-26.

The national retreat is a time for you to get together with other MVSers to relax, have fun, worship, and spend some time reflecting on your MVS terms and assignments.

Please plan to arrive at the camp between 2–5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22. If you are flying, please use the Colorado Springs airport. We will arrange transportation from the airport to the camp. Please choose a flight that arrives at the airport no later than 4 p.m. (If you can't find a flight that arrives early enough, contact Ben Regier to arrange for a later pickup.)

If cheaper tickets can be found (at least $100 cheaper per person) by flying into the Denver airport, please check with Ben Regier to see if transportation can be arranged for you from Denver. To allow for extra driving time, those flying to Denver should arrive no later than 3 p.m.

The retreat ends after breakfast on Thursday, Oct. 26. When booking flights, please choose a flight that departs no earlier than 12 p.m. (1 p.m. for Denver).

Once you have made your transportation arrangements, please register for retreat here:

 What to bring to retreat

Unit responsibilities

Cookies – Each unit should bring two dozen homemade cookies (or any other kind of snack food you'd like to share).

Personal items

Casual clothes

Water bottle

Earplugs (for light sleepers)

Toiletries

Flashlight (camping lamps)

Mosquito repellent

Bible

Pen/pencil, notebook/paper (for notes)

Table games/cards (for late-night activities)

Musical instruments
Participants are invited to bring their musical instruments and share their musical gifts in worship and throughout the retreat.

Discussion/activity groups
Each day of the retreat will have some unscheduled free time. If there is a discussion or activity that you would like to lead, this is the perfect time to do it. Do you want to talk to other MVSers about the challenges of staying present at an emotionally challenging job? Would you like to organize a group hike? Do you just want to find a few other people who will play Settlers of Catan with you? The solution is simple: Start a discussion/activity group! All you have to do is describe the discussion/activity that you want to lead, and we'll post it on the wall so people can sign up to participate.
