Since it is surrounded by rivers, it is accessible only by plane or long trips by boat on the Amazon River. Approximately 80 percent of the population is Indigenous peoples who have very limited resources. The main source of income is informal trade and tourism.<p>You will join the work of the <em>Iglesia Cristiana Menonita </em>congregation and will serve their ministries to youth and children and their families. Cecy Wong, who is from Iquitos, began a ministry with children and youth on the streets approximately 14 years ago. After marrying David Moreno from Colombia, five years ago their ministry expanded into the development of churches. David's brother Juan Carlos Moreno and his wife Cielo Arguello joined the team shortly after. Through them, this ministry is officially connected to the Colombian Mennonite Church (IMCOL).</p><p>Today, weekly children's programs are held in four areas of the city, with 40-60 children participating at each location. In addition, from the testimony of their own children, parents began asking to come together as a church. This year, they celebrated their fourth year as a congregation. Assist in singing children's songs, telling Bible stories, doing craft projects and showing the love of Jesus. Other tasks and duties as assigned.</p><div class="ExternalClass911B1D39984746ABB93119C30F41B842"><p>​<strong>Qualifications:  </strong>must be between 18 and 26 years old; some Spanish helpful and willingness to learn more; some experience working with children helpful; ability to take initiative and share your faith in word and deed</p></div>
