Through innovative workshops and activities, we empower students to develop the academic and life skills they need for college and career success.

Fellows in the Scholars program strive to empower young adults as they navigate their educational experience and become life-long learnings. The fellows will begin to facilitate weekly workshops for students in middle school and high school after receiving extensive training. Past workshops include leadership development, career exploration and college exploration. The fellows will also be able to bring their own passion into workshops to create fun and interactive workshops with students. Fellows will also play an important role in preparing materials to support curriculum, managing the progress of assigned students and supporting workshop volunteers.

The ideal candidates will be:

Interested in educational programming and passionate about the youth we serve

Highly organized, detail oriented, and motivated to learn a variety of skills

Experienced in leadership positions

Possessing strong oral and written communication skills

A self-starter who enjoys working on projects independently (with support from full-time staff)

Experienced in using Microsoft Word and Excel

Enthusiastic about the FLOC mission and the non-profit sector

Candidates with Spanish language proficiency are strongly encouraged to apply.
