Administration Assistant voluntary service/United States/536540/Administration AssistantAdministration AssistantChrist House<p> <b><u>POSITION SUMMARY</u></b><br> The Administration Assistant's primary function is to assist the Christ House Administration Department with human resources, procurement, accounting, in-kind donations, and other tasks as assigned by the Associate Administrator. In addition, the Administration Assistant supports Christ House patients as an escort on medical appointments as well as assisting the Patient Activity Coordinator with planned patient activities. The Administration Assistant works in accordance with the philosophy, policies, and practices of Christ House at all times. </p><p> <b>POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</b> <ol> <li>MISSION AND VALUES <ul> <li>Demonstrates a commitment and understanding of Christ House's values to preserve the dignity of every person and to ensure patient confidentiality. </li> <li>Engages in courteous behavior and respectful communication with all patients, co-workers and visitors.</li> </ul></li> <li>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</li> <ul> <li>Provides key support for Christ House's administrative functions including but not limited to the following: <ol> <li>Human resources - timeclock management, benefits enrollment and tracking</li> <li>Procurement - office supplies</li> <li>Accounting - invoice and bill reconciliations</li> </ol></li> <li>Assists with planning and implementation of activities and events <ol> <li>Staff development and enrichment programs </li> <li>Staff retreats</li> <li>Christmas Party</li> <li>Volunteer Appreciation dinner</li> <li>Fundraising events - Sing out for Shelter</li> </ol></li> <li>Participates in weekly patient community meetings.</li> <li>Serves as an escort for Christ House patients on medical appointments outside the facility. As an escort, the Generalist will serve as an effective conduit of information between Christ House nursing staff and hospital nursing staff. </li> <li>Assists with receptionist coverage of the phones and monitoring of the lobby. </li> <li>Provides coverage of phones and front door monitoring from the nurses station on Saturdays as assigned.</li> <li>Supports the Activities Coordinator by planning and attending some patient activities. </li> <li>Assists the development office as needed with mailings and other fundraising activities</li> <li>Conducts other relevant duties as assigned.</li> </ul></li> <li>HEALTH AND SAFETY PRACTICES <ul> <li>Promotes safety and infection control policies and procedures.</li> <li>Demonstrates an understanding of role in emergency situations, such as fire drills.</li> </ul></li> <li>COMMITMENT TO TEAMWORK <ul> <li>Reports for work on time when scheduled.</li> <li>Maintains a positive relationship with co-workers.</li> <li>Takes responsibility for self-improvement.</li> <li>Attends and participates in staff meetings and in-services.</li> </ol> </p><div class="ExternalClass565FC154265E47CEB11E79A21F84CB6D"><p> <b><u>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS</u></b> <ol> <li>Education: Bachelors degree preferred. </li> <li>Computer Literacy: A general familiarity with Microsoft Office.</li> <li>Driver's License: A valid driver's license and a willingness to learn to drive a large van in a densely populated urban city.</li> <li>Characteristics: Cultural sensitivity, professionalism, confidentiality, empathy, a sense of humor, ability to maintain appropriate boundaries, and an ability to complete tasks with minimum supervision.</li> <li>Physical Demands: Multi-tasking, lifting supplies and donated items, driving, walking to procure supplies from vendors.</li> </ol> </p> </div>
