Client Engagement Specialisthttps://www.mennonitemission.net/Serve/placements/mennonite voluntary service/United States/537447/Client Engagement SpecialistClient Engagement SpecialistOaklawn<p> <strong>Purpose:</strong> <ul> <li>To provide support, hope and guidance to individuals who are at the point of engaging in mental health or addictions services at Oaklawn so that they are able to do so efficiently and confidently.</li> </ul> </p><p> <strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong> <ul> <li>Engage people in connecting or re-connecting to the mental health and substance abuse treatment systems.</li> <li>Welcome individuals new to Oaklawn services and decrease their anxiety by talking them through the process of what will happen in their initial visit.</li> <li>Assist individuals with completing required paperwork in order to access needed services and enter that work into the client record as indicated.</li> <li>Assist individuals with completing clinical tools that track progress of treatment.</li> <li>Assist individuals with accessing their clinical record information through Oaklawn's Health Portal and setting up secure texting when indicated.</li> <li>Assist individuals with accessing apps that could be helpful to monitoring of symptoms, beginning new behaviors, etc.</li> <li>Answer questions regarding other services/community resources about which individuals may have questions or concerns or connect them with others who have the answers to those questions.</li> <li>Engage individuals both in person and via phone after the initial service(s) to problem-solve barriers to further engagement in services and warmly invite them to follow-up work.</li> <li>Ability to respond calmly in high stress situations as well as de-escalate others.</li> <li>Monitor a safe and trauma-informed environment in the waiting area and in our access processes</li> </ul> </p> <div class="ExternalClass542C3256711346409EFF456775DB52A7"><p> <strong>Professional Qualities Needed</strong> <ul> <li>Ability to work with individuals of all ages, races, religions, sexual orientations and socio-economic backgrounds in a respectful and non-judgmental manner.</li> <li>Ability to create and maintain a recovery oriented environment by using person-first language, respectful documentation and being trauma informed in interactions.</li> <li>Ability to respond in a timely manner to requests from individuals being served and from staff.</li> <li>Ability to maintain professional boundaries and professional relationships with individuals being served.</li> <li>Ability to do limited navigation of our electronic medical record as well as to help with apps as identified.</li> </ul> </p><p> <strong>Other Qualifications</strong> <ul> <li>At least a high school diploma.</li> <li>Bilingual skills helpful.</li> <li>Interest in the targeted population of those with mental health and addictions challenges, experience (personal or professional) is a plus.</li> <li>Experience in working with and serving people, completing paperwork, etc.</li> </ul> </p> </div>
