Community Outreach and Marketing Coordinator

​Service week (days/hours): 8:30 – 5:00 Monday – Friday. Some evenings, weekends; flextime is available to compensate for events. Weekday hours can be flexible but must complete 35-40 hours

Required Meetings: weekly staff meetings and weekly meetings with supervisor.

Position Objective: To enhance the affiliate's image and visibility in the community and offer development support to the Development Director.

List of specific duties and responsibilities for this position:

  • Develop new marketing materials: review and improve current materials
  • Maintain our brand consistency in all marketing materials
  • Act as liaison between affiliate and the community by creating new partnerships
  • Work with ReStore staff and volunteers to promote donations, sales and volunteers
  • Work with Family Services Director to review current materials and revise as needed to attract and educate potential applicants
  • Work with Volunteer Coordinator to develop new methods and materials to recruit new volunteers
  • Work with affiliate staff as team member to coordinate efforts to tell the Habitat Story
  • Update website, social media as needed
  • Write newsletters as assigned for both print and email distribution
  • Update Executive Director and Board as requested on outreach activity
  • Perform other tasks related to community outreach as needed

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to include public speaking, good interpersonal skills that lead to good communication.
  • Flexibility, patience, tolerance and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with multiple partner families and volunteers on and off site.
  • Must be organized, self-motivated and have the ability to affect change.
  • Be a people person with ability to perform multiple tasks on any given day including the ability to take direction from and work easily with staff.
  • Administrative skills including planning, coordination, scheduling and managing details efficiently and effectively.
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office, Outlook, design programs, etc.) design and/or marketing are preferred.
  • An understanding of the mission of Habitat for Humanity.

Physical Requirements to Perform Duties: Able to lift and move 25 pounds. Current drivers license/good record.
