The after-school program provides a safe space for children to be while parents are still working. Participants will help teachers set up, ride along on buses to pick up kids, and help facilitate daily activities like playtime, carpet time, homework, and many others! Throughout the year Stewpot's after-school program partners with other institutions, like Belhaven University whose arts students provide dance lessons. At times the children go on cultural field trips to the fair or a concert, receive sports instruction and even craft time. This is truly a time in which participants learn how to interact with children and are able to leave lasting impressions on them. Participants may be asked to work in different aspects of Stewpot as well.
Stewpot is an Inter-Faith ministry providing for the basic needs of those who are homeless and/or impoverished. Read more about Stewpot and the opportunities for growth here: Stewpot
