Camps with Meaning, a ministry of Mennonite Church - Manitoba, operates three year-round camps in Manitoba. Camp Assiniboia is located near Winnipeg, Camp Koinonia is located near Boissevain and Camp Moose Lake is close to Sprague. They operate one camp from June 24 - 29 at Camp Moose Lake and then begin the full summer program at all three camps, starting July 2 - August 24. Service opportunities include: If you are a Medical Doctor, Registered Nurse, LPN or Paramedic who is licensed to work in Manitoba, Camps with Meaning requires an onsite health officer for the summer programs. Camp Koinonia is in need of a Head Cook and /or Assistant Cook for their summer program. The camp accommodates up to 75 campers and staff per week. The Head Cook and Assistant Cook are supported by four additional kitchen volunteers as well as an on-site Food Service Coordinator. Camp Assiniboia is looking for a volunteer couple to live onsite to perform hosting and some maintenance duties. The expectation is that this couple would provide respite for the permanent site manager, guest groups services person and maintenance person and allow them to take regular scheduled time off. Housing and some meals would be provided as well as a stipend. We hope to find a couple willing to make a one or two year commitment but we would be happy to talk with anyone interested in becoming a part of our camp community. There are several volunteer opportunities available for spouses or single people, such as camp pastor, kitchen help, maintenance and health officer. www.campswithmeaning.org
