…[Elizabeth] exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And why has this happened to me, that the mother of my Lord comes to me? For as soon as I heard the sound of your greeting, the child in my womb leaped for joy.” — Luke 1:42-44 (NRSV)
Jubilation, amazement and joy were the pleasant sensations that Elizabeth felt when she met Mary, and the scriptures say that even the baby she was carrying in her womb jumped for joy.
Joy is a pleasant emotion that produces a feeling of satisfaction and happiness. There are different types of joy, the most important being true joy, which is generated naturally and spontaneously by a pleasant event.
Joy has rich benefits for mental and physical health, reduces stress, generates greater self-esteem, and gives us strength, better performance and peaceful dreams.
Jesus is our source of peace and love, and that is why joy is manifested when we sisters get together to share our experiences and listen to each other attentively. Between laughter and songs, we share the biblical reflection and pray for each other. For this reason, life becomes more bearable when we bless each other and recognize ourselves as beloved daughters of God, who empowers us as women to face each day with joy.
Paul says in Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, 'Rejoice.'" Only Jesus in our lives can fill our hearts with the joy and hope that empower us to solve the difficulties of life, to face with wisdom what plagues us and to bless and be blessed when we accompany other women in their journey.
Let us pray:
May your joy, Lord, be our strength and blessing in all the moments of our lives.
Las seguidoras de Jesús no solo nos reunimos a orar, sino a disfrutar la vida
“…Entonces, con voz muy fuerte, dijo: — ¡Dios te ha bendecido más que a todas las mujeres, y ha bendecido a tu hijo! ¿Quién soy yo, para que venga a visitarme la madre de mi Señor? Pues tan pronto como oí tu saludo, mi hijo se estremeció de alegría en mi vientre”. Lucas 1:42-44
Júbilo, asombro, gozo fue la sensación placentera que sintió Isabel cuando se encontró con María, dicen las escrituras, que hasta el bebé que llevaba en su vientre, saltó de alegría.
La alegría es una emoción agradable, que produce una sensación de satisfacción y felicidad. Ese sentimiento se produce por un acontecimiento positivo.
Hay diferentes tipos de alegría, la más importante es la alegría verdadera, que se genera en forma natural y espontánea por un acontecimiento agradable.
La alegría tiene ricos beneficios para la salud mental y física, disminuye el estrés, genera mayor autoestima, nos da fortaleza, un mejor rendimiento y sueños apacibles.
Es Jesús nuestra fuente de paz y amor, es por eso que la alegría se manifiesta cuando nos reunimos las hermanas a compartir nuestras vivencias, a escucharnos con atención y entre risas y canciones, compartimos la reflexión bíblica y oramos unas por otras. Por tal motivo se nos hace más llevadera la vida al bendecirnos y reconocernos como hijas amadas de Dios, quien nos empodera como mujeres para enfrentar el día a día con alegría.
Dice Pablo en Filipenses 4:4 “Alégrense siempre en el Señor. Repito: ¡Alégrense!”. Solo Jesús en nuestras vidas puede llenar de gozo y esperanza nuestros corazones, nos habilita a resolver las dificultades de la vida, al enfrentar con sabiduría lo que nos azota y bendecir y ser bendecidas cuando acompañamos a otras mujeres en su caminar.
