The Comunidad de Paz congregation gathered for prayer several times preceding Venezuela's presidential election held Sunday, July 28. Venezuelans across the country took to the streets on Monday to protest a disputed election, clashing with police as uncertainty swirls around the results. Venezolanos de todo el país salieron a las calles el lunes para protestar la elección controvertida, enfrentándose a la policía mientras la incertidumbre gira en torno a los resultados. Euclides Bauza, pastor of Comunidad de Paz (Community of Peace) and president of Asociación Civil Red de Misiones Menonita de Venezuela, a conference of Mennonite churches in Venezuela, requests brothers and sisters around the world to join the people of Venezuela in praying for justice and an end to the violence in the wake of Sunday’s disputed election.

Comunidad de Paz is located on Isla Margarita, Venezuela’s largest island situated off the northeastern coast of the country. This congregation gathered for prayer preceding the election on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and Pastor Bauza is calling on people to continue praying.

Pastor Bauza served as an election observer. He said President Nicolás Maduro was declared the winner despite many irregularities. As a result, the streets of the cities are filled with demonstrators demanding transparency and justice. At the time of this release, at least 16 people had died, hundreds were injured and close to 800 had been arrested.

Euclides Bauza, pastor de Comunidad de Paz y presidente de la Asociación Civil Red de Misiones Menonita de Venezuela, una conferencia de iglesias menonitas en Venezuela, pide a los hermanos y hermanas de todo el mundo que se unan al pueblo de Venezuela en oración por la justicia y el fin de la violencia tras las controvertidas elecciones del domingo.

Comunidad de Paz se encuentra en Isla Margarita, la isla más grande de Venezuela, situada frente a la costa nororiental del país. Esta congregación se reunió para orar antes de las elecciones el martes, miércoles y viernes, y el pastor Bauza • está pidiendo a la gente que sigan orando.

El pastor Bauza fue observador electoral. Dijo que el presidente Nicolás Maduro fue declarado ganador a pesar de las numerosas irregularidades. Como resultado, las calles de las ciudades están llenas de manifestantes que exigen transparencia y justicia. En el momento de esta publicación, al menos 16 personas habían muerto, cientos estaban heridas y cerca de 800 habían sido detenidas.
