It aims to be a sign and symbol that Protestants and Catholics can share together in a common witness and ministry of reconciliation. Its residential community is located in Ballycastle, County Antrim, Northern Ireland.Corrymeela, which means “The Hill of Harmony,” began in the mid-1960s with a series of conferences between Protestants and Catholics just prior to the beginning of “The Troubles” in Northern Ireland. Over the following decades, the facilities and programs of Corrymeela steadily grew. Mennonites have related to the community through volunteer and study programs, while Mission Network occasionally has placed workers there since the late 1990s.
