Walking on water: A Bible story

Home » Video » Walking on water: A Bible story

  • By David Fast and Horace McMillon
  • Tuesday, June 25, 2024

“It’s not our business to throw each other out of the boat and decide who gets to stay in the boat and who doesn’t get in the boat. Our business is to stay on task with what Jesus directed us to do.”

Horace McMillon, Mennonite Mission Network board member and pastor at Open Door Mennonite Church in Jackson, Mississippi, and David Fast, art design lead for Mission Network, share the story of Jesus walking on water.

When Jesus saw his disciples struggling and fearful of the raging storm, he came to them, walking on the water. Seeing their distress, Jesus got into the boat with them, symbolizing His willingness to be present with us in times of fear and trouble, offering comfort and assurance.
