People from six of the seven churches of the Iglesia Evangélica Menonita de Chile (IEMCH) gathered January 11 for a unified worship service. This gathering celebrated the IEMCH’s deep-rooted connection to the global Mennonite family and its membership in the Mennonite World Conference (MWC).

The IEMCH’s ties to the broader Mennonite community were forged through relationships with Chileans who embraced the Mennonite faith while living in Canada, bringing their newfound convictions back to Chile to establish and nurture these congregations.

The churches are known for their service in the community, reaching out to people in need and sharing food and clothes with people on the streets. They also establish regular patterns of fundraising, preparing and selling plates of food to build and manage property needs and their ministries.
