Mennonite Mission Network – At the end of September, 12 young adults from the U.S. and Canada headed to Bolivia, China, and England to serve with Radical Journey, a Mennonite Mission Network Christian Service program.

The Bolivia team is working in Santa Cruz with the eight-congregation Iglesia Evangélica Menonita Boliviana and serving at a daycare and with the Institute of International Development. The China team is in Nanchong, building relationships and teaching English classes through the local church. And the team in Bradford, England is helping churches with youth activities and volunteering in classrooms at the local primary school.

Prior to their departure the teams spent a month in orientation learning and serving together in Chicago and will spend the last month of the year-long program integrating their experiences into their home congregations.

“Each year Radical Journey sends teams of young adults to explore what God is doing in the world and to get involved,” said Darrell Gascho, the program’s director. “Radical Journey is about cross cultural learning, service and spiritual formation. It’s our hope that these young adults can inspire all of us to ask what God is doing in the communities where we find ourselves and how we can join in."
