Become better acquainted with Indigenous Peoples, their profound connection to the land we inhabit, and the settler colonial history that is antagonistic to their culture, spirituality, and way of life.
You and your community are invited to engage with contemporary Indigenous realities, explore the histories of Indigenous Peoples, and examine the complexities of Indigenous-settler relations. What might it mean for your community to stand in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples and actively contribute to the work of truth telling and repair?
The experience will be jointly hosted by Mennonite Mission Network and the Coalition to Dismantle the Doctrine of Discovery on the Homeland of the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation (Yakama Reservation), and facilitated by executive director Sarah Augustine and Doe Hoyer, Director of National Campaigns of the Coalition to Dismantle the Doctrine of Discovery. Mission Network staff will travel with the pilgrimage group to help manage details and logistics.
The goal of a pilgrim is not to solve but to search, not so much to help as to be present.
