Delicia Bravo Aguilar and Peter Wigginton serve as coordinators for the Ecuador Partnership, a vital role amid rising violence and the need for theological education and peacebuilding throughout Ecuador.
Delicia brings a deep commitment to children’s ministry and to advocating for church structures that truly include children. She ensures that peace work reflects the needs and gifts of both children and youth. In Ecuador, the ability of three different Anabaptist conferences to work together in this peacemaking ministry has been a powerful testament to God’s mission of shalom through the church.
Peter firmly believes that building relationships across the global body of Christ is essential for the church today: especially across national and cultural boundaries. He emphasizes that where violence is present, the local church must respond. However, to respond in a Christ-like way, the global body of Christ needs to be spiritually, and when possible, physically united in that response. Violence isolates, and so our response must be deeply connected. Peter’s gifts in bridge-building and peacebuilding uniquely equip him for this calling.
