La Prairie Mennonite Church, a member of the Association des Eglises Evangelique located in Montbéliard, France, is a congregation of 230 members with a vision centered on serving God through worship, serving believers through discipleship, and serving the world through evangelization and compassion.
As part of the serving the world component, La Prairie Church wants to embody an integral mission that focuses on all the needs of human beings. It is for that reason that they are engaged in the Pays de Montbéliard, especially in three types of services to which volunteers can contribute:
-Social commitments where we are called to fight injustice in various forms in which it occurs.
-Relational commitments where we fight loneliness by offering time for listening and spending time with others.
-Spiritual commitments where we fight the spiritual desert with an evangelization adapted to our time.
La Prairie believes that these three commitments go hand in hand and are all part of the mission God has entrusted to them. Their social commitments which seek the good of the city are always in connection with the social services of the Pays de Montbéliard.
Ramers will serve in the social service ministries of the congregation, including the Maison Blanche de Bethoncourt-Champvallon, Quartier Libre, and other opportunities as they arise. They will also be involved at the La Prairie Church serving in the café & bookstore and participating in afternoon leisure activities. Social, relational, and spiritual commitments are focused on children and women of the surrounding Muslim neighborhood, and other groups of the church for fellowship and mutual encouragement.
