Agencies in Asia seek leaders

ELKHART, Ind. (Mennonite Mission Network) – Two agency partners of Mennonite Mission Network that are dedicated to helping people in Asia are looking for executive directors to lead them.

United Mission to Nepal and JCS International (based in Mongolia) are seeking candidates who would guide their respective organizations to do even greater work.

A partnership between the people of Nepal and several Christian organizations, United Mission to Nepal focuses on rooting out the causes of poverty. Diverse teams of staff and volunteers collaborate on projects that empower the Nepalese to lead healthier lives and to build stronger families and communities.

JCS International is a consortium of international Christian organizations that partners with the people of Mongolia to meet their spiritual and physical needs. The agency supports local churches and schools and also programs that inspire hope and a stronger sense of community empowerment in individuals.

The executive director would manage strategic goals, communicate a clear vision, and empower the agency to uphold its mission and values. The executive director would also cultivate and maintain close ties with local and international partners, governments, and individual donors. Each executive director position requires a person who has significant international experience, as well as administrative experience, said John F. Lapp, Mennonite Mission Network’s director for Asia.

"We would be eager to talk with any individual from the Mennonite constituency who might be interested in the openings,” Lapp said. “Both organizations have long histories of doing excellent social, health, and economic development work, and both have worked closely with the rapidly growing Christian community in their respective countries.”
