Everyday mission highlighted in new blog

ELKHART, Ind. (Mennonite Mission Network) — Find posts from the perspectives of mission workers, young adults, partners, and Mennonite Mission Network staff on the Beyond blog. Their experiences explain how they integrate mission into their everyday lives.

The following is a quick orientation to some of the newest posts.  

  1. Seeing Desmond Tutu more clearly — Brianna Derstine and her Radical Journey team listened to Former Archbishop Desmond Tutu when he preached at St. George’s Cathedral in Cape Town, South Africa. Afterward, she reflected on what it was like to be in a church with a celebrity.
  2. Ratatouille — Brenna Steury Graber, a mission worker in France, shared a French recipe for Ratatouille, a simple, tasty dish of slow roasted vegetables.
  3. Peace on the shelf — Jason Boone, the coordinating minister of the Peace and Justice Support Network, recommends three books that had an important influence on his understanding of peace.
  4. Letting go of the wheel in Alaska — Service Adventure helped Marlene Allebach experience how to let God take control of her life.
  5. Go and make disciples — The blog will be the online home for the Beyond magazine. Check out the latest issue of the magazine, which focused on how Racial/Ethnic congregations lead the way in growing the Mennonite Church.
