Ministry with youth in Guatemala needs your support

Seth and Stephany Rudeen hope to leave for Guatemala in August 2025, and they need your financial support to begin their ministry.

Seth and Stephany are designated to serve at the Q’eqchi’ Bezaleel Mennonite Educational Center, operated by the Q’eqchi’ Mennonite Church near San Pedro Carchá, Guatemala. Mission Network is partnering with Central America Study and Service (CASAS) in Guatemala City, where they will begin with two months of language and cultural study before starting their service. Their diverse roles at Bezaleel will include educational support, practical contributions, and building meaningful relationships with students, staff, and the church community.

At Bezaleel, Seth and Stephany will assist students in learning English, a critical skill for broadening educational and professional opportunities. In addition to academics, they will engage students in hands-on activities like gardening and school maintenance to share practical skills while contributing to the school’s sustainability.

Founded as part of the Q’eqchi’ (also spelled Kekchi) Mennonite Church’s comprehensive ministry, Bezaleel is a church-run junior and senior high school offering various career tracks. The church, established in 1972 through the work of Eastern Mennonite Missions workers who arrived in 1968, has grown to approximately 140 congregations across six regions, spanning Alta Verapaz and extending into the Petén in northern Guatemala.
