KANSAS CITY, Kan.—Del Hershberger, Mennonite Mission Network’s director of Christian Service, speaks at the Mission Network Christian Service consultation that took place Jan. 25-27 in Kansas City, Kan. Mission Network board members and staff, along with colleagues from across the church, gathered to evaluate Mission Network’s Christian Service programs—Mennonite Voluntary Service, DOOR, Service Adventure, SOOP, Radical Journey and Youth Venture—and suggest priorities for the next five years. Those in attendance issued a strong call for more interaction with communities of color as well as discernment about how new or existing programs can best serve those communities.
