Risdon Slate, a professor of criminology at Florida Southern College, (affiliated with United Methodist Church), and his wife, Claudia, are dual guests on the Shaping Families radio program this week. The Slates both share insights on living with bipolar illness as a married couple.

Risdon has worked for many years to help those working in the criminal justice field do a better job in responding to persons with mental illness. He is the author of a book, Criminalization of Mental Illness with W. Wesley Johnson, and Claudia teaches English at Florida Southern. Risdon is featured in the Shadow Voices: Finding Hope in Mental Illness DVD.
