Imagine that you are the mother of a 10- and 12-year-old and also have a 28-year-old daughter who has four children—two of whom you are caring for because their mother is incarcerated. Camilla is the guest on Shaping Families this week, sharing experiences that are very common for many families: having a family member who first gets in trouble with the law through drug use and then finds it very difficult to stay out of prison due to parole violations.
Camilla herself grew up in a home with alcoholism and became drug dependent, but she was able to leave that behind when she became a Christian. Today she helps other young women through a prison ministry. In this week’s program, counselor Harvey Yoder talks about a day he spent in prison just to learn what it’s like.
Shaping Families radio program airs each weekend on 18 local radio stations and online at www.ShapingFamilies.com.
