It is perhaps a parent’s worst nightmare to realize a child is missing. It happened to Wilma and her husband, the guest on Shaping Families radio program this week.

Wilma Derksen of Winnipeg, Manitoba shares her story of life after her daughter was abducted and murdered. She and her husband soon realized that their horrible ordeal “could destroy us. It could destroy our family. It could destroy our faith. It could destroy absolutely everything. We were terrified.” Our of her experiences she began Victim’s Voice program (MCC Canada) to bring offenders and survivors together for dialogue as a part of the forgiveness process.

Listen to Shaping Families radio program each weekend on one of 12 local radio stations or online at www.ShapingFamilies.com. Shaping Families is produced by Third Way Media through Mennonite Mission Network.
