SOOP Details
SOOP participants choose their location, time and length of service; assist in finding an assignment; and set their own pace. They also work directly with on-site coordinators, who frequently help arrange suitable housing. Participants generally cover travel, food, lodging, health insurance and medical costs. Assignments generally range from one weekend to four months. SOOP is a joint program with Mennonite Association of Retired Persons and Mennonite Central Committee Canada.
